We empower all students to embrace learning, achieve their personal best and build their emotional, social and physical well-being.

PS206Q CORE VALUES

The STAR matrix has the core values of Self-Control, Teamwork, Accountability, and Respect. These core values need to be echoed in the development of the group work protocols and student self/peer/group evaluation. Teachers focus on these personal behaviors of learners in the context of academics and increase the school wide focus on these College and Career Readiness Skills.

CEP GOALS 2019-2020

Below you will find the goals for the 2019-2020 Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP). The CEP was restructured this school year. The CEP is developed by looking at brad areas of concentration based on a thorough and comprehensive analysis of the school’s data. For this school year, the CEP was required to have goals in ELA for all students, English Language Learners and Students with

Disabilities. There was also a mandate for goals in Math for all students, English Language Learners, and Students with Disabilities. The CEP required us to identify an area in Supportive Environment. The school will focus on Chronic Absenteeism as this was flagged as a level one on the New York State School Accountability Report Card.

• Ensure that all students in Kindergarten – Grade 2 develop early literacy skills in ELA to build a solid foundations for their development as successful readers.

• Establish a strong vocabulary program in the school to ensure that students are applying and understanding rich vocabulary in the text for the purpose of reading, writing and speaking.
